Founder Elfie was born in Paris to a family of cabaret artists. She had a substantial career in the performing arts, but gradually realized that while she loved to entertain, baking was always at center stage for her. In 2005, she decided it was time to open a restaurant of her own with a little entertainment flair, finding great success as the very first winner of Food Network's "Cupcake Wars" in 2009.
